about the library
Library is the heart of an academic institution. The Tingkhong College Library is an automated academic library working under the integrated library management software (ILMS) named SOUL 3.0 provided by INFLIBNET. It is established in the year 1972. Some of the prominent members associated with its foundation, donated 523 books during its establishment. Moreover, some resources are donated by the public library of the neighboring village named Adishreepuriya gaon. The library is well-equipped with a print collection of 16670 along with a good number of journals and magazines. The facility of e-resources is provided through the subscription of N-List. The library felicitates the “Best Reader Award” every year to the deserving user. Along with the lending services, the library provides facilities such as remote search through web OPAC, wi-fi, reading room service, etc. A manual gate register is maintained to keep a track of the user statistics. In the era of information explosion, the library visualizes to produce an amount of users who will be expert in information seeking, analysing, and identifying the right query result. The vision is to provide, produce, and expand the universe of knowledge

- Tingkhong College Library will remain open from Monday to Saturday except government holidays. Library working hours:

- Monday to Friday: 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 9.00 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Students of Tingkhong College have to wear college uniform while entering into the library and must carry the library card.
- All personal belongings except purse, mobile phone, notebook, library card will have to deposit in the property counter.
- Every user entering the library have to sign in the gate register.
- Every new user will have to register in the library and will get a membership card provided by the library authority.

- Four Academic Years- For Undergraduate (UG) students
- Two Academic Years- For Higher Secondary (HS) students
- Five Years (Renewable)- For Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff
- Books can be issue/return in the circulation counter. Book privileges for different category of users:

- For UG students- 3 books for 7 days (renewable for another 7 days)
- For HS students- 2 books for 7 days (renewable for another 7 days)
- For Faculty members- 5 books for 30 days (non-renewable)
- Books kept in the reference are not to be issued to anyone.
- For the final year students of B.A./B.Sc. and HS, in order to receive their grade sheets from the college, they must collect a clearance certificate from the library as soon as their examinations are over.
- Rule of clearance certificate will be applicable to the retired faculty members as well to avail the membership after retirement with a considerable membership fee.
- The users are advised to keep the books on the reading table after consulting and not to place in the stack himself/herself.
