A gist of the department:
The Department of Botany was founded in the year 2023 and offers undergraduate programme in the subject. The department corresponds to the academic calendar of Dibrugarh University and follows the curriculum created by Dibrugarh University. The department can accept 40 students annually at the entry level of the B.Sc. programme, exclusively on the basis of merit, and it has sufficient laboratory facilities for its students.
Departmental Mission:
- Discover and Disseminate: Learn new things about the biology of plants and impart this information to others.
- Educate and Empower: Give students a thorough education in botany so they can go on to contribute significantly to both science and society.
- Conserve and Cultivate: For the benefit of future generations, encourage the preservation of plant diversity and the sustainable use of plant resources.
- Innovate and Inspire: Drive innovation in botanical study and encourage a greater understanding of the kingdom of plants.
These mission statement tries to encompass the department’s commitment to botany research, teaching, conservation, and innovation.
Vision:
The vision of Department of Botany is to promote a culture of learning among students by teaching them about the principles, associated elements, and developing developments in plant science. In the twenty-first century, we think this knowledge will benefit both science and our country.
