OVERVIEW

A gist of the department:

Department of Mathematics, Tingkhong College has been one of the major Departments right from the inception of the college in 2023 and offers undergraduate courses in Mathematics. The Department has been striving its best for academic and personal excellence. The department is currently offering various Courses in Mathematics and its related field under the FYUGP curriculum of Dibrugarh University. The fundamental philosophy of the Department is to inculcate not only intellect and creativity among our students through their active engagement in academic activities but to realize their extra-academic and extra-curricular disposition as well, critical for making a productive member of the society. Each faculty member closely monitors every student throughout the academic year in classes, tutorials, internal mid-term, and final examinations. Apart from normal academics, the department has been publishing a yearly Mathematics wall magazine and has been taking classes in Mathematics and reasoning for every student of the College who has been preparing for competitive examination.

Plan of Action:

To establish Research Centre in Pure as well as Applied Mathematics.
To have all faculty with Ph.D. degree.
To create an environment that supports outstanding research.
To gain overall development in academic and teaching domains.
To help students for their academic excellence to reach global standards.
To organize International Conferences.
To provide Add-on Courses in C-Programming and Latex etc.
To provide the best mathematics education required to strengthen the backbone of all the students of the department.
To attract and retain faculty of highest calibre.
Continue to give facilities to the faculty to do their research towards Ph.D.
To provide opportunities for students and faculties to gain knowledge in teaching and learning processes.
To provide opportunities for faculty and students to participate in various seminars, workshops, conferences and training programmes.
To conduct National Conferences and Workshops for the benefit of students and faculty.
